Sneak a Peek at the Photoshoot!

So, we had the photoshoot and it all went down in one day. Such a great time with tons of hilarious pictures. I love phootshooting days. I will be posting some of the silly ones after I get these awesome bad boy shots out.

Thanks to our amazing model and everyone else who's helped out! See them on our website www.rumandcouture.com. New Spring 2013 start coming out next month so that means another great opportunity to photoshoot in the next few weeks. Can't wait!

A little Bit Of Christmas Designing Fun.

So here we are a few days before Christmas flashback and me and my friend AC are contemplating making a reversible baby cape for her niece. We picked really quirky prints and fun fur.

Here we are just cutting it out. Having a little fun. I had never done anything like it before.

We found a neat little pattern although we ended up sewing it up a whole different way.

And this was AC's first time to make this too. First time I worked on anything with anyone besides my Aunt and Co-designer.

And as a reward...we scarfed down all the new Habatchi grill, that just opened, had to offer!

 Delicious soups.

Our flowery noodles.

Some flowery veggies.

AC's soup. She loves everything soggy.

I just love the details. The delicious delicious details.

Our friend JS trying to enjoy his meal while I'm yelling to stop so I can shoot pictures.

Handmade gifts are always my favorite. I will have to find an after picture of the cape so you can see all of the hard work. Projects for the shoppe are fun, but there's always room for other projects!

Anyone do any projects for this season?

Until then I'm designer dreaming! <3 .="." nbsp="nbsp" p="p">

Quick Look at My Christmas

Holidays are one time I'm thankful I run my own business and can take all the time I need to be with my family. Here's a look at my Grandparents Christmas party and it's always elegant and funny. My other family Christmas is loud, sparkly, and full of bad language and laughter.

My younger cousin helped his mother set this pretty table setting. They always do a great job.

This gem is getting put in my "to make a million hard copies of" of my beautiful niece and my wonderful gramps.

Even at holiday dinner on a vacation for work I can't stop photographing things I love the color combination in. Here I am scooping out my Aunt's plate.

I do not drink coffee but I am going to learn to enjoy it this year.

Another picture for the "to make a million hard copies" pile. Over fifty years of hard earned love and respect in this marriage and I couldn't dreaming of wanting anything less for myself.

My favorite part of the Holiday. My Grandma's homemade, most delicious, cheese cake. No one, and I mean no  one can even come close ever with her exact recipe.

All the holiday festivities has lead me to love the white color scheme. I think I might just be adding a few all white pieces to the line. I have never been one to have any white pieces but there is a first time for everything. Only thing I ever tried was this past holiday collection's white lace open back top.

How was your holiday? Did you get style inspired by the season?

I'd love to hear it. Till then...I'm designer dreaming <3 .="." p="p">

New Years//New Style

Happy New Years Resolution

So it's casual Monday! And to begin my New Years Resolution...One of the at least...is to post often my outfits at the office and other place...plus post links to finding similar things.
My intern had this amazing bag on today! I just loved it. And now want one too.

I love the great metal work all the way down the bag. I also found the hippie version of this bag and I'll be linking it. Casual Monday's are a favorite of mine and there I am leaning and fondling my mannequin. This year I am going to devote myself to my line but also to my love of writing and blogging.

Anyone else have a fashion related resolution? If so, do share, until then...I'm designer dreaming <3 .="." font="font">

Floor Length Skirt

Here is our new floor length skirt! All we wanted to do was create a beautiful skirt that could become part of what looked like a very formal dress when paired right.

A close up of the gathering.

A beautiful subtle gold waistband lining.

Under the light.

In the shade.

I'm so excited about this bottom. One way to wear it would be with a black leotard underneath. I like the super fitted look on top with flowing skirts. I will have to put this skirt together with a few tops to show some great ways to wear it. It's not available on www.rumandcouture.com yet but we will have it soon.

And of course, this week I will show some great holiday outfits in a style post.
Until then, I'm designer dreaming <3 .="." br="br">

Back to Blogging, Designing and Our Online Shop!

So it might seem as if I have taken a break from everything. This is not true, but I did take a break from blogging. I spent all of the end of summer and the beginning of fall opening an Online Store for my clothing line. Of course I will be posting on that journey. Until then, I will be updating you on the boutique and what's new in and what's going on in there.
Of course the holidays bring out my gift giving side as we set up easy to navigate awesome holiday gift stations. No one can appreciate a great clutch like a bag-a-holic in your life. Plus, the party girl who loves metallic will enjoy this on New Years.
Of course, I also have friends addicted to scarves. My friend TT is one and in honor of her I designed a few scarves. Of course they are animal print! Did you think I'd ever get over it?

And for your friends who can not get enough accessories.

And for the black and metal fan. I just love this combo.

Of course for those who's heart lies in spring and summer even in the winter and fall.

For your friend who loves the old style vintage and masquerade.

My favorite decorations in the shop.

Pearls make me feel pretty. Instead of doing a pearl necklace, I choose to pick a pearl embellished neckline. All the pretty, just a little less accessorizing.

Gold brocade dress. This trend will be hitting hard in spring but why not get ahead of the crowd.

My favorite piece we designed for our Holiday Line '12. Sweeping Toga in cheetah and red.

The Sweeping Toga in winter blue with a hand beaded silver sash.

So the boutique is decked out in our Holiday Line '12. It's such a great feeling to go from just a small boutique carrying just a few of my own designs and many other lines to being almost half my line now! This year has been the biggest jump for this amazing transition.

Also, the website is up and running. Check out our hard work now in motion.

And of course stay tuned because I'm back to blogging my life and journey to being a designer. Until next time, I'm designer dreaming <3 p="p">
